Official Standard of the German Shorthaired Pointer

Desert German Shorthaired Pointer Club

Goals and Objectives:

To encourage and promote the ethical breeding and use of German Shorthaired Pointers and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection through education, activities and philosophy.

To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which German Shorthaired Pointers shall be judged.

To do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of the Breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at Dog Shows, Field Trials, Obedience Trials and Hunting Tests.

To conduct sanctioned and licensed Specialty Shows, Field Trials, Obedience Trials and Hunting Tests under the rules of the American Kennel Club.

To promote a congenial and friendly atmosphere among German Shorthaired Pointer Club members and members of other pointing breed clubs.
