About the DGSPC
Desert German Shorthaired Pointer Club Inc.
GOALS and OBJECTIVES:
- To encourage and promote the ethical breeding and use of German
Shorthaired Pointers and to do all possible to bring their natural
qualities to perfection through education, activities, and philosophy. - To urge members and breeders to accept the Standard of the Breed
as approved by The American Kennel Club as the only standard of
excellence by which German Shorthaired Pointers shall be judged. - To do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of the Breed
by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at Dog Shows, Field Trials,
Obedience Trials, and Hunting Tests. - To Conduct Sanctioned and Licensed Specialty Shows, Field Trials,
Obedience Trials, and Hunting Tests under the rules of the American
Kennel Club. - To promote a congenial and friendly atmosphere among German
Shorthaired Pointer Club members and fellow members of other
Pointing Dog Clubs.
NON PROFIT:
This club is not conducted or operated for profit and no part of any
profits or remainder or residue from dues or donations to the Club
shall inure to the benefit of any member or individual.
EVENTS:
The DGSPC offers all the events allowed by the AKC:
- 2 Horseback field trials
- 1 walking field trial
- 4 Hunting Tests
- 2 Specialty Shows
We also have quarterly meetings and members often get together to train.
